Jul 26th: BBQ Fundraiser for the Disabled Sailing Association

• Free wine
• Bring your own other booze
• Live Auction at 8:00 PM
• 50/50 Draw at 9:00 PM

All proceeds are going to the Disabled Sailing Association of BC

• When: Saturday, July 26th
• Time: 3-10PM, followed by a Night on the Town!
• Where: Burnaby Heights - call or email for directions

Next meeting is Tues, August 19th at 7:15am at the Dockside Restaurant on Granville Island (1253 Johnston Street, Granville Island)

A Loving Spoonful Donation

From the Kin Magazine:

$3000 is a significant donation to us, and I wanted the Kin Club of Vancouver to be involved in the decision as to how this money would be utilized. Lindsay was kind enough to invite me to the club's July breakfast meeting, where the check was presented and I talked with the club about the various ways in which we could use this donation. There were many ideas, such as using the money for our Christmas campaign or buying specific items for our clients. One of the members asked me how I thought the money should be spent; my answer was that our core mandate is to feed people, and I'd like to see the money go directly towards our food programs. I explained to the club how far $3,000 would go and all were in agreement that this was the best way to utilize the donation.
